Below are shots of a large part of the back yard showing progress during the month of June, most recent at the top so you don’t have to wait.
You may recall, we had to eliminate a giant weed forest which of course I didn’t get photos of. And now we have a veggie garden with Buddha surrounded by flowers. Click on the photos to enlarge.

Now, if only everything would just grow faster! I can’t wait for my scarlet runner beans to climb the trellises.

You’ve made a lot of progress! I have to warn you about one thing to watch for. I planted scarlet runner beans last year (in Wisconsin) and they attracted masses of Japanese beetles. I’d never seen Japanese beetles in our yard before, and since doing some research about them, I learned they really like pole beans.

Yeah, I wondered about Japanese beetles. I’ve read that garlic can repel a lot of pests so I think I’m going to end up with garlic everywhere in the garden. The problem will be remembering which is garlic and which is onion come harvest time since one is Spring and the other Fall.
Also read that borage attracts bees, which I want to do but also attracts Japanese beetles, which I don’t want. Sometimes it feels like we can’t win.

You’ve made a wonderful veg patch there – that is awesome. It’ll keep you going for sure.

So clearly… what my struggling garden needs is a buddha! Duh!!! Looks great snarky!! It’s so cool that you actually have this mini field to till… I so wish I could rip up my grass and do that!

I know, I’m way overdue for a garden update. Honestly, it’s so lush and green I have a hard time taking photos because it looks like a jungle. I’ll update soon.
